LOVES PARK, Ill. (WIFR) - The Puri Champions Cup, hosted in Rockford since 2012, is expected to bring 308 teams and more than 7,000 attendees.

The Puri Champions Cup takes place from April 11-13 at Mercyhealth Sportscore Two, 8800 E. Riverside Blvd. in Loves Park.
Players on the men’s team range from 8 to 19 years old, and players on the girls team range from 11 to 19 years old. Teams come from across the Midwest, including Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana and more.
The championship follows the Puri Cup College Showcase, which took place from April 4-6, bringing 154 teams and more than 10,000 attendees.
“The return of the Puri Cup tournaments is a testament to the growth of Rockford as a soccer town,” said Lindsay Arellano, GoRockford Vice President of Sales and Service. “This tournament continues to grow, filling our hotels and bring in thousands of players, spectators, and fans, and we are thrilled to welcome them to the Rockford region.”
The two tournaments are expected to bring $3.4 million to the city.
